Vagif Rza Ibrahimov is an Azerbaijani mathematician who is working in the field of computational mathematics. He researches the construction and application of the multistep multiderivative methods with the constant coefficients to solve the ordinary differential equation, integral equation with the variable boundaries, integro-differential equation of Volterra type and computing of single and double integrals. Ibrahimov has found the maximal values of the degrees of stable and unstable MMM. He proved that the investigation of the relationship between the order and degree for multistep methods (including explicit, implicit, hybrid, forward-jumping and others) can be considered as completed. He has constructed the hybrid methods with the highest degree ( p-is the order) which have applied to solving above mentioned equations and investigated the numerical solution of initial value problem ODE of the high order.
Vagif Rza Ibrahimov proved that the solution of the initial-value problem for ODEs and Volterra integro-differential equations, the solution of the Volterra integral equations and also computing the single and double definite integrals can be found one and the same method. He constructed concrete algorithms to solve above mentiand problems. He also constructed formula define the maximal value for the order of accuracy. Thus he developed the Dahlquist theory.
