After completing the process of nomination and voting for awards' winners, we are delighted to announce the winners of the 2023 IETI 2nd Young Researcher Award.
Jianhua Guo is a Full Professor at the University of Queensland, Australia, and he is a Deputy Director -Research at Australian Centre for Water and Environmental Biotechnology. He graduated with a PhD in Environmental Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology. Previously, he taught at the Beijing University of Technology. Prof. Guo is currently serving as an Associate Editor of Journal of Hazardous Materials (IF=14.224) and Water Research (IF=13.4). He received many honors such as ARC Future Fellowship, Early Career Researcher Award from the University of Queensland, ARC Discovery Early Career Researcher Award, and China Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Nomination Award. Since 2010, he attracted more than 15 Million US Dollars in a competitive research funding in total. He has published more than 200 fully refereed papers, including Science (IF=63.731), PNAS (IF=12.78), Energy & Environmental Science (IF=39.741), Nature Communications (IF=17.69), Advanced Science (IF=17.52), and many others.
Xuesong Zhai is a Distinguished Researcher at the College of Education, Zhejiang University, whose research interests include interactive learning, the construction of smart learning environments, and emerging technology-enhanced learning. Currently, his research team contributes to the construction of a resilience education ecosystem with an educational metaverse to promote educational equality between urban and suburban areas. To optimize the efficiency of information technology in the education sector, his team has employed the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and big data approaches to measure the development index of information technology in China. Moreover, he has served as a guest editor for IEEE TLT, a section editor for iTDAF, an associate editor for Applied Computing and Intelligence, and an editorial board member for EAI Transactions on e-Learning and STEM Education. He has also hosted many reputed and influential international conferences, such as GCCCE and IEEE-Tale. He has published over 50 research papers in indexed journals, including Educational Technology & Society, Interactive Learning Environments, Higher Education, and the Journal of Computer Assisted Learning.
Otilia Manta has recieved her Doctor of Economics from the School of Advanced Studies of the Romanian Academy, Romania. She is a Scientific Researcher of the Romanian Academy, Scholar of International Financial Relations, macroeconomics and entrepreneurship, Evaluation Expert, and Rapporteur for EU Projects, Expert in investment projects, capacity building, sustainable development at local and global level, Founder of companies and NGOs with more than 20 years experience in financial and banking consulting and EU project management, scientific research in the multidisciplinary field. Prof. Otilia is an international reviewer with an experience in more than 15,000 investment projects of which 80% received EU funding, evaluation and rapporteur for EU projects over 200, written books and chapters in more than 40 books, scientific papers and articles published in over 450 publishers, 2 magazines, and 6 scientific journals, He also served as a reviewer of over 400 ISI papers. Through her academic and professional activities, she has continuously contributed to the development of innovative financial tools, as well as to the development of content suitable for interactive learning, the construction of intelligent learning environments and the enhanced learning of financial technology (FinTech). Moreover, she is a member of the iTDAF Scientific Committee, Vice President, International Research Institute for Economics and Management (IRIEM), and Member of the Scientific Committee of IETI International Conferences.
Dr. Yi Li (PhD, FRSA, FHEA) is a Senior Lecturer in Discipline of International Business, at the University of Sydney Business School. His research interests include sustainable internationalization of firms in emerging economy, institutional approaches of business strategy, and digital innovation of emerging multinational enterprises. Yi received his Bachelor's Degree with Honours at University of International Business and Economics, and his Ph.D. in International Business from the Australian National University. Before joining the Discipline in 2017, he was the International Research Fellow in China Europe International Business School, which ranks the Top 20 in the world. His work has been published or forthcoming in journals such as Organization Studies, Journal of World Business, Regional Studies, Global Strategy Journal, International Journal of Management Reviews, International Business Review, Management International Review, Management and Organization Review, Journal of Business Research, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, Technovation, Asia Pacific Journal of Management, Technological Forecasting and Social Change and others. As the Winner of 2019 Early Career Researcher Award in the University of Sydney Business School, He has won national competitive research grants such as National Natural Science Foundation of China Grant. Since 2020, He has been elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA). He has been a Fellow of the Higher Educational Academy (FHEA) since 2022. He currently serves as Deputy Director in Emerging Markets Research Group, Deputy Editor for Communication in Journal of International Management (ABDC: A), Editorial Review Board Member of Asia Pacific Journal of Management (ABDC: A) and Management and Organization Review (ABDC: A), and Associate Editor of Chinese Management Studies (ABDC: C).
Muhammad Imran Khan is an Associate Dean for Research at CECOS University with over 15 years’ industry/research/teaching experience in engineering, operations, sustainable development, planning, policy, environmental management and commissioning of major projects within the energy sector. His research focuses on system modeling and reducing the environmental impacts of energy systems in developing countries. The scientific relevance of his research activity is demonstrated by the publication of over 103 peer-reviewed articles in the world top energy journals (some of which have acceptance rate of less than 5%), 17 of which have been cited more than 100 times each. Moreover, 15 of his publications are indexed by the Web of Science ESI (Essential Science Indicators) as Highly Cited Papers (Top 1% citation in the chosen field). With an H-index of 42 and over 5300 citations, he is placed among the world top 1% (at 29170th position) in the "2022 Global Scientists Influence Ranking" chosen from nearly 7 million scientists by Standford University. His contributions in the energy field have been recognized by several exclusive and competitive national and international awards and honors, such as: Energy Engineer of the Year – Association of Energy Engineers, USA (2021); GRIT Award by Experience Energy, USA (2018); Research Productivity Award by Pakistan Council for Science & Technology, Govt. of Pakistan (2016); Top Peer Reviewer Award in Engineering Category-2019 by Web of Science, USA. He hold PhD Degree in Energy Engineering from the University of Reading, UK and He is an elected Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (FIET), UK.
Cong Xu is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Medicine at the University of Nuremberg Erlangen in Germany. He was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Biomedical Sciences in Germany, and he graduated with a PhD in Biology from the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Biomedical Sciences/University of Munster in Germany. He has published multiple papers in journals such as Nature Communications (IF=17.694), Nature Protocols (IF=17.021), Annals of the Rheumatic Discuses (IF=27.973), eLife (IF=8.713), and Advanced Materials (IF=32.086). He has long supported IETI's academic journals and conferences, promoting the development and construction of IETI's German team.
