The Institute of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (IDSAI) today appointed Prof. Dr. Vladimir Chigrinov and Desineni Subbaram Naidu, as the Vice Presidents of the Institute for 2020-2024.
IDSAI is the sisterhood organization of International Engineering and Technology Institute (IETI). Established in 2015, the IETI is a non-profit (No Membership / Fellowship Fees) international academic organization including 5 Nobel Prize Laureates, 2 Turing Award Laureates, 1 Fields Medal Laureate, 1 Wolf Prize Laureate, 2 John Bates Clark Medal Laureates, 1 Oscar Award Laureate, and 1 King Faisal International Prize Laureate, 68 Academicians, 9 ACM Fellows, 26 IEEE Fellows. Key Members of IETI are from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard University, Oxford University, University of Cambridge, University of California - Berkeley, Princeton University, Columbia University, Yale University, Imperial College London, University of Chicago, etc. It has two sisterhood organizations: the International Research Institute of Economic Management (IRIEM, led by 2 Nobel Prize Laureates in Economics) and the Institute of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (IDSAI). IETI takes engineering application, science and technology innovations, and sustainable development as its goals; chooses general education as its vision to promote the coordinated development of natural sciences, engineering sciences, and social sciences. IETI has diversified cooperation with more than 50 Organizations (universities, academies of sciences, research institutes, etc.) from Europe, America, Africa, Oceania, and Asia, and appeared on the top 100 ranking university websites (news, libraries or professors' personal web pages) , it can be seen that it is widely recognized by the world.
Vladimir Chigrinov, has more than 42 years of experience in academia, management and as an international leader. After completing his BS in applied mathematics at Moscow Technical University of Electronics and Mathematics 1973, and a PhD degree in Solid State Physics, Shubnikov Institute of Crystallography, USSR Academy of Sciences , 1978, he took employment at the Scientific Researcher of Organic Intermediates & Dyes Institute (NIOPIK), Moscow, Russia. He became a Professor of Solid State Physics, Shubnikov Institute of Crystallography, USSR Academy of Sciences, 1988 and Head of Division in NIOPIK with 120 employees and 6 Laboratories including: "Physics of Liquid Crystals", “Chemistry of Liquid Crystals", “Organic Electrochromic Materials", "Luminiscent Dyes", "Photoanisotropic Materials", “Vacuum Photoresists”. The center occupies the leading position in such a field as Fine Chemistry for Electronics, including Liquid Crystals , Electrochromic, Photochromic, Thermochromic and Photoanisotropic Materials, Laser Dyes etc. He also start working as Professor of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Clear Water Bay, Kowloon, Hong Kong since June 1999. He is an Expert in Flat Panel Technology in Russia, recognized by the World Technology Evaluation Centre, 1994, and SID Fellow since 2008. He is an author of 6 books, 31 reviews and book chapters, about 313 journal papers, more than 662 Conference presentations, and 116 patents and patent applications including 35 US patents in the field of liquid crystals since 1974. He got Excellent Research Award of HKUST School of Engineering in 2012. He obtained Gold Medal and The Best Award in the Invention & Innovation Awards 2014 held at the Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE) 2014, which was hosted in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 20-22 Feb 2014. Desineni Subbaram Naidu joined the EE Department as Minnesota Power Jack Rowe Endowed Chair in August 2014. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Control Systems Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). Kharagpur. Dr. Naidu taught, visited and/or conducted research at IIT (up to – 1985); Guidance and Control Division at NASA Langley Research Center (1985-90); Old Domain University (1987-90); Idaho State University (1990-2014) as Founding Director of Measurement and Control Engineering Research Center (MCERC), Associate Dean of the College of Engineering (1998-2010) and Director School of Engineering (2010-13);
United States (US) Air Force Research Laboratory (1998-99); Center of Excellence for Ships and Ocean Structures at Norwegian University of Science and Technology (2004); Measurement and Control Laboratory at Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (2005); the Universities of Western and Southern Australia (2008); East China Normal University (2011 He has over 300 journal and conference publications including 6 books, and has been on the editorial boards of several journals including the IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control and Optimal Control: Applications and Methods. Dr. Naidu’s area of teaching and research include electrical engineering, optimal control, nonlinear control, intelligent control, industrial control systems and cyber security, biomedical engineering, and time scales in engineering, physical and life sciences. He is an IEEE Fellow and Fellow of the World Innovation Foundation, UK.
Desineni Subbaram Naidu said: I am deeply humbled to accept this honor from the IETI/IDSAI.
